More mid-week MTB.....
Here comes the sun…and with it the heat!!
With the fast approaching heat of summer in New Mexico comes the demand that more riding is done in the early morning, or in the evening when things start to cool off. This also makes mountain biking a bit more frequent, as quick intense rides provide the opportunity to get in quality training in short amount of times, thereby limiting one’s exposure to the intense sun.
The warming of the ground brings another dangerous (sometimes) phenomenon, snakes of all variety. This is no doubt a theme you may see in future posts as well. This bull snake might look small but was at least 4’ long. Quite docile and friendly, he simply wandered off the road and into the safety of a nearby bush.
At any rate, mid-week rides with our families, and friends (socially distanced of course) feature today.
Lola continues to kill me on her mountain bike,…and Zane, with only 20 rides under his belt in the last 4 years (all but 2 of them in the last 3 months) is already pushing me with endurance and technical ability. Passing of the torch is coming…
