Midweek Sun and Sites
One of the things we most look forward to is a nice, and relatively long (2-3 hours) Wednesday ride.
This week, the ride took us through the valley, across the Mesilla Dam and into the wilds of the West mesa. There are a myriad of roads to take, many of which criss-cross and often lead to nowhere in particular. Staying on the power-line or gas-line roads is usually yields the best chance for a successful return to home.
Such was the ride on Wednesday evening. New route segments help to relieve the boredom that can result from simply riding the same roads week after week, so exploration is just part of the gig.
Occasionally, and rarely, we actually receive some precipitation in the April-June time-frame in southern NM. Although it was only about 20” of rain (and in NM, that infers that the drops were about 20” apart!), and it never really reached the ground (rain that does this due to evaporation is called Virga rain), it did provide a nice rainbow over the Organ Mountains.
Never can tell what you’ll see on a TD training ride…
