Exploring Cone Country

March 14th saw me training without my partner in crime, Ray. He was out of town working. Sooo..I decided to do a tour of the Cone Country. This is an area southwest of Las Cruces that has seen a ton of volcanic activity in the recent (geologically speaking) past. Due to the late winter rains, the desert is green and has tons of flowers. A rare treat in Las Cruces. This turned into a 120 mile, 8 hour ride. Very remote, very peaceful.
