Training in a COVID-19 World

Every thing has changed. Almost…

As everyone is, Ray and I continue to adapt to life in a COVID world. It’s a world far from what any of us have ever know in the United States.

One of the biggest challenges is training on 4-10 hour rides. Normally this is something we have done together, and with others, as we prepare for our Tour Divide attempt. Now, many of our rides are solo. I guess, in some ways, this is better preparation for the TD, as we must race solo without any help or outside assistance anyway.

In order to adhere to local, state, and national recommendations for social distancing, we have taken to riding far spaced, and when in proximity of anyone or each other, wearing buffs or other masks to prevent potential spread of the virus.

This is all a great idea, except that in Southern New Mexico, things are starting to heat up, in more ways than one……
