Our first overnight trip...October 2019

So as we begin our preparation, Ray and I have each chosen to ride the bike specifically designed for the Tour Divide, the Salsa Cycles Cutthroat. Only problem is, I have been waiting on my 2020 Cutty for almost 6 months. After finally deciding what I wanted to ride in February of 2019, it soon became apparent that I would have to find a Cutthroat to try to ensure I got the sizing right. By the time I did, in April of 2019, ALL of the 2019 bikes were sold. The led me to pre-purchase a 2020 model, hoping that it would be in around August or September of 2019 so I could get some rides in prior to late fall/winter. Here it is October and still I wait. This was a quick overnight trip into the “Cone Country” near Las Cruces, NM, specifically the destination was Aden Crater (we ran out of light and didn’t make it!). It was a great evening with beer (!), and a small cow patty and dead mesquite fire. Successful to be sure!!!
