Some things are not what they seem
Like elevation profiles!!
if there is one things we’ve learned in 5 days, it’s that we have much more to learn!
one thing we have learned is the elevation profiles on the Adventure Cycling Association only tell PART of the story.
What appeared to be a fairly straight forward climb over Priest Pass, about 1800’-2000’, turned into almost 5,800’ of climbing. Ugh!!
After that we were treated with a nice downhill, into a fierce headwind!
Finally we rolled into Helena Montana, after only about 50 miles We decided to use today to fix some bike issues, mail some COLD weather gear home, re-adjust our eying, and get to bed early for an early start tomorrow .
Spirits are still good, we’re only racing ourselves to the finish.
We’re headed for Butte tomorrow’!
Thanks for riding along!!
We’re Southbound and Down!
